Covid-19 update

We will be open from the 19th April!!

Hey guys, we are really looking forward to seeing you all on Monday the 19th for some drinks!!! Unfortunately we will be postponing the kitchen opening until Friday the 23rd. Please take a look at our menu in preparation for Friday and we hope to see you all there!!!

Opening hours

We will be open from 12-10 every day with food being served throughout.
The Sunday kitchen opening hours will be 12-6.

Bookings

We will not be taking bookings or limiting you to a time slot Monday to Saturday however Sundays are an event so booking is advised.
We don’t want you stressing about having to leave before you’re ready or having to book in advance.

Either just turn up or by all means give us a call and see how full we are, if you say you’ll be up in 30 mins or less we will hold a table for you until you arrive.
We will be running a waiting list with socially distanced queuing space or a “text when your table is ready” service so you can enjoy the staggering views form the coastal path just behind the pub whilst waiting for a table.
We will also be supplying take away drinks & food in plastics to anyone that wants to head out for a walk or if you fancy a pint whilst waiting for a table.

Weather

We will try our best to open as much as we can but it is strongly advised to call us if it’s raining, very cold or the weather is in any way not suitable for outdoor fun.
We will be selling reasonably priced blankets for you to use in the chillier evenings (unfortunately we can’t lend them out for obvious reasons) but even so, the bitter winds of Capel will have us all running for home if they really get going.

We will however be operating an in car service for those that get caught on a cliff walk in the rain or for those that just hate being cold!!
Drop us an order via text to the number displayed and we’ll bring your food and drinks out to your car.

Welcome to
The Valiant Sailor

Harry and the team at The Valiant Sailor welcome you to our beautiful village nestled at the top of the White Cliffs. Dating back to 1782 The Valiant is a cosy country pub in Capel le Ferne, the 'Village in the Clouds' between Folkestone and Dover, next to the Battle of Britain Memorial.

The kitchen is open for lunch and dinner, serving delicious homemade meals using local produce and a delicious roast on Sundays and earned a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2017 and 2018.

We offer a large range of keg, cask and craft beers, plus a selection of fine wines, spirits and soft drinks. It is a family and dog friendly pub with a roaring open fire in the winter. There is a large beer garden with a children's play area, a spacious car park and a covered smoking area.

The pub is on the North Downs Way and England Coast Path and we welcome ramblers and walking groups. Motor homes are also welcome for pub stopovers.
